The Lakers crushed the Celtics last night, in a shallacking that was even worse than the final score. While the Celtics played poorly, give the Lakers credit — they played by far their best game of the Finals.
Game 7 is Thursday night.
I expect the Lakers to take game 7, and for everybody to go gaga over Kobe Bryant as usual. I just don’t see the Celtics pulling this one out. I hope I’m wrong.
The one piece of optimism I have is this — Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett must look at each other sometime before game 7 and say — “Is it really going to end like this?” These players are all approaching the end, and I think they know for sure this is their last chance to win another championship.
So what’s it going to be guys, a huge championship victory to complete your career and ride off into the sunset, or are you going to be just another notch in Kobe Bryant’s belt buckle?
