I’m a bit under the weather today, so if this post seems short or my arguments weak, they probably are. That being said, the Patriots shakily moved to 5-1 yesterday, beating the Chargers 23-20 after a 50-yard field goal attempt by San Diego’s Kris Brown (yes, this is funny) hit the uprights. Before this game I was unsure of how San Diego’s #1 ranked offense and #1 ranked defense could lead them to a 2-4 record. Then they showed me precisely how that is possible. The Patriots, meanwhile, did quite the opposite. They are currently ranked 30th in the league in passing yards allowed per game, letting up 282 yards per contest — yet they are 5-1. They’ve got Minnesota next week, in a potentially Brett Favreless contest. You never know what you’re gonna get out of Minnesota.
In other news, this is my first season playing fantasy football. And today is a perfect example of why I’ve always trashed on fantasy sports. Going into the Cowboys-Giants Monday Night Football game tonight, I find my fantasy team 20 points behind my boss’ team. Except all of his players have played, and I have Brandon Jacobs and the Giants defense still to play. I don’t like the Cowboys by any means, but I’d still like the Giants to lose. Yet in order to beat my boss, I need the Giants defense to allow points and Brandon Jacobs to score some touchdowns. I’m stuck rooting for 15-14 Cowboys victory, with Brandon Jacobs having 2 touchdowns. How stupid is that?

Tied for the best record in the league and we’re still wondering if they are really as good as we think they are…
That game was tough to watch yesterday.
Oh, and I agree about fantasy football. I have Philips Rivers on my team, so I was rooting for him to throw for a ton of yards and a few TDs, but to have the Pats score more points…not a great predicament to be in.
Yea fantasy is dumb, and it sucks to have the best record in the league but still not be able to get to excited over it. They are still proving themselves to me for sure.
im right there with you on the fantasy football dilemma. Only for me tonight, a big giants fan, i have steve smith and jacobs going and my opponent, who is ahead of me by about 10 points, has tony homo. Im hoping for the giants to win big and the d line to have another double digit sack game with a few forced fumbles. Osi has at least one strip sack in the last 3 games, i believe, and would love at least one more tonight. so you see sometimes the fantasy football team can make the game even better, though most of the time it doesnt.
Good point.
this is why i drafted Kevin Kolb, Desean Jackson and Brent Celek to my fantasy team.. My team is absolutely horrible but it is rare that i find myself rooting for someone i don’t like
You are so fly. That’s why I got Tom the Great.
we have a 2 qb league, my other qb is tom brady.. once kolb sits i get to play with ryan fitzpatrick and tom brady
Very nice.
Analogy for you: Fantasy sports is to bros, what Final Fantasy is to nerds….holler.
That’s fair.
Link to a pretty cool Tom Brady biography…
Years from now you’ll still be hearing about how Tom Brady was the best to ever play the game. Even if this movie was in 4-D, no one will remember who this teenage girl is.
Hearing it from your crazy ass, but not anyone else.
EVERYONE. The world may even contain a siren, wailing the name Toooooommmm Bradddddyyyyyyyyyy, at all times.
i hope they have a part in there about when the kid who supposedly looks like an idiot beat him in the super bowl.
They won’t. No one will remember that kid.
