Beer of the Month — Kronenbourg 1664

The Beer of the Month for July is Kronenbourg 1664 — a French beer. Better known for their wine-making prowess, Kronenbourg is essentially the national beer of France and is by far the most frequently exported French beer. Described as a “Euro Pale Lager” the beer is golden in color, flavorful, and goes well with a variety of food. I’d classify it as a year round brew, but it is certainly refreshing — making it a great beer for the summer months.

You’ll find this beer all over Europe, but most decent beer stores of bars that carry a good selection of European beers will have this one. Give it a whirl — it’s one of my favorites.

Beer of the Month — West Coast IPA

The beer of the month for June (sorry it’s a bit late) is West Coast IPA from the Greenflash Brewing Company. This beer out of San Diego is very hoppy, copper in color, relatively strong (7% abv), and delicious. A bit pricey for a 6-pack on the east coast, but worth checking out for sure. If you like IPA’s, this one’s unique.
